Hello all what is cracka lackin I hope you all had the best week ever. I sure did. I almost died again. Imagine that. Hold for dramatic effect.....
ANYWAYS TO START OFF! last pday was aight but we couldn't find this place that sells aboriginal skirts. Then today we found it!!! But they dont take American cards so I have to find somewhere to get cash out and go back next week:(
Thhhhhhen it was meeting after meeting after meeting after meeting after meeting and meeting after meeting. I think that's 7, yeah. Hahaha. Zone conf and general conf plus the womens session and district council + training wow wow it was crazy. But super super AWWWESOME. You would think that sitting for like 20 hours total this weekend would make our behinds falls off but we still managed to sit on our bikes. God IS good once again.
I'm going to share a thought and/or quote from each portion of conference/training etc and I hope aside from all jokes that you all can truly truly feel my Spirit and know that everything is done in the eyes of Heavenly Father and each and every thing has a purpose. Let's get into itttt
ZONE CONFERENCE-
Couple talks for you guys to look at!
- "Blessed are the peacemakers" Oct 2002 President Nelson
- "Keep the chain unbroken" 1999 President Hinkley
We really focused on the power of the Book of Mormon. How it's the converting power that's going to change the people's hearts. It's so important I honestly cant stress it enough. If you've never read it, read it. Download the app, listen to it. It's a story about Jesus Christ. And if you love Him/believe in hin, you'll love this too. :)
- "Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he could be, and he will become" :)
GENERAL CONFERENCE
Saturday!
- Of course, the talk "Fair Dinkum" because he's from Aus but it was also super super good! Dont put your heart halfway in something. Always give it your all and start now!
- High love brings High Expectations. Good reminder for everyone.
-Elder Bednars talk about Satan disguising himself. Such a cool analogy that makes it easy to understand how the Adversary works. Remember, bad will always pretend to be good.
- L. Todd Budge talked about the Brother Jared and his story. So so cool. "Surrender yourself to the Lord and entrust in him. It may not always feel safe but it will be safe." It's always scary to give the wheel to someone who's not actually driving. But Heavenly Father is the perfect Navigator because He knows all :)
- Rasband!!!!! His talk is so amazing. The concept of Obediance and keeping your word. Something parents need to teach their kids nowadays. The easier it is to break day to day promises the easier it will be to break the promise you have with God.
You all know I'm not about that womens equal rights baloney, but the womens session was so powerful. And President Nelson gave a talk about womens role in the Priesthood. If you haven't heard it, go watch it. I promise your appreciation for yourself and your purpose will increase:) Also! Sister Aburto talked about breaking the stigma of mental illness. Such a good reminder for me especially when she said, "When you ask for help, you give others the ability to share their talents and gifts."
SUNDAY!
(we actually had a new friend come to all of Sunday and so every talk was just so much more powerful to me because it seemed as though they were speaking to our friend)
- Elder Uchtdorfs talk was brilliant. Heaps of reminders and also good new things to think about. "If you believe, your life has more meaning..." ****also my beautiful cousin makenna gave her farewell talk based on this one. I love you kenna. Your testimony will change hearts:) ****
Peter M Johnsons talk was awesome!!
Of course all the talks are always amazing and share SO many good insights, and all of them have special meaning directly from God! So it's incredible all around..but...now for the BREAD and BUTTER.
President Nelson. Oh man is he so cool. He closing remarks had me quaaaaking. Different general conference than ever before???? My subject also refers to this. SO SO SO COOL. Joseph Smith has always always been my Hero. I could go on about him but this is getting quite lengthy so I'm going to stop here. But just leave you with this thought....
A prophet of God, has received revelation to make this next General Conference different than anything we seen yet. And has asked us to focus our studies on the Book of Mormon. The life of Jospeh Smith. But why?
Continue to read a verse of the Book of Mormon everyday like I challenged you to and I promise, your testimony or belief in Jospeh Smith will increase. He is the Prophet of the Restoration and we wouldn't be here without him!
I love you all so so much and although Australia is very far away, I hope you can feel my love and my prayers for so many of you each day :)
DO GOOD AND BE GOOD AND TRY TO HUG SOMEONE THIS WEEK YOU'VE NEVER HUGGED! (I can't hug tiny humans and it makes me sad so do it do for me)
Love,
Sister Lockhart XD
OH MY GOSH MY STORY I ALMOST DIED HAHAHA WE ALMOST GOT ATTACKED AND ROBBED BUT WE ARE OKAY
Some snakes, fish and spiders we saw at the museum!! So spooky but haven't seen any in real life yet ;)
More beautiful pics of Darwin :))
One kd them is smoke encircling us from the fire. Pretty scary and it stinks plus it's humid so = extra gross outside
Sister Carroll and I got matching skirts from Kmart so this was our self timer photo shoot. Also notice how tan my arms are compared to my legs. :(
I drew the way to get to heaven so here's that and me.
This is so long hahaha hello to those of you who actually read this love u most
